Born to Business: The Value of Every Dollar
I’ve been drawn to numbers, counting, and the logic of a budget since I was a little girl. Growing up with hardworking parents who sacrificed to buy acreage for horses outside Medford, Oregon, I was raised with a deep understanding of the value of every dollar and the principle that hard work is its own reward.
A true country girl at heart, I still prefer to be up at the crack of dawn, diving right into my clients’ work for the day. While I love being outdoors—whether hiking, biking, or tending to my flower garden—I bring that same focused, dedicated energy to my desk.
From Hobby to Full-Time Dedication
Like most small business owners, my journey began with a personal decision to take a leap. For me, that moment was in 2005 while camping at Lake Shasta. After years of dedicated work to prepare for self-employment, I decided to turn my bookkeeping hobby into a full-time career.
That morning, sitting around the campfire, I told my mom I was going into business for myself. When she asked for the name, I said, "Checking-the-Books," and the business was officially born.

I’ve heard all the friendly quips about my frugal nature—from being "tighter than bark on a tree" to being able to "pinch a penny and squeeze it into a quarter." And you know what? They're right.
This natural frugality isn't just a quirk; it’s the mindset I bring to your finances. My deeply ingrained respect for money means I treat your business dollars like my own. My passion is ensuring your books are not just accurate, but that they reflect a healthy, efficient business, allowing you to focus on your strengths with complete financial peace of mind.
Located outside of Crater Lake, OR surrounded by beautiful trees, fresh air and my pups.

A genuinely soft-spoken, down-to-earth country girl, I originally hail from the small town of Eagle Point, Oregon. My childhood was spent riding horses, immersed in nature, and exploring the Oregon coast. It was there I acquired core values that define my work today: strong integrity, practical frugality, and an unwavering commitment to hard work.
From Early Childhood Education to Bookkeeping
Along the way, I realized the parts of that work I truly loved—the organizational systems, the data, and the relationships—could be channeled into a focused service. My career path naturally led me to self-employment, focusing on working with numbers, data entry, and building strong relationships to support your business journey.
Focusing on Your Confidence and Growth
Now, I dedicate myself to providing the financial clarity that allows other business owners to thrive. I find deep satisfaction in boosting your confidence with accurate bookkeeping and helping you grow.
When I’m not supporting clients, you’ll likely find me enjoying the serenity of my current home in Eaton CO. I love finding peaceful moments—sipping coffee in town, or heading to the mountains to enjoy a flowing stream, fresh air, and embracing every minute spent with family.
